There are 3 key differences.
1. The position of the rollers and their impact on certain exercises.
The first photo shows TS 1.0 while performing bench press. When you push up, the pressure goes in the direction of the red arrows in the photo. The edges of the rollers put a lot of pressure on the upright, which is uneven and makes the movement not smooth.
The second photo shows TS 2.0, and when you press up, the roller's main body moves smoothly along the upright.
